Manali is one of the principal scenic beauties among the hill stations in India. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in winters and summer season. Manali showcases the most beautiful snow capped Himalayan ranges in Northern region, its scenic grandeur takes the tourists visiting first time to a new high. Manali word is taken from the word Manu Mahrishi, who came and meditated here. Manali is situated in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh which is approximately 570 kms. from Delhi. The road leading toward Manali further head towards Rohtang pass and famous moonscape of Lahoul & Leh – Ladakh. This beautiful valley stands at 1927 meters above sea level. At the skyline one can see snow capped ranges almost throughout the year and at the lower elevation there are vivid green patches of grassland, gushing river streams, apple, peach, plum and apricot orchards. It is the real starting point of ancient trade routes.

Manali attracts many tourists every year not only for its natural beauty but for various adventure sports activities which can thrill every sports enthusiast. It also attracts many because it can fit in every pocket i.e., low cost budget packages. Although you require more than a week or may be more to cover each and every destinations around Manali but 3 Nights and 4 days packages are more famous. On first day most of the tour operators will take you for the local sightseeing which mostly includes Temple visits. On At first you will taken to Hadimba Temple which is a three tired architectural example of ancient building in Himalayan region. It is located just 1.5kms. from the main tourist hub ‘The Mall road’. It’s a nice place amidst dense deodar forest. Next destination will take you to Manu temple, club house both are very near to Hadimba Temple and The Mall road. Vashisht temple is 4kms. from The Mall road. It is located on diversion road leading towards Rohtang Pass. Vashisht temple is famous for hot water sulphur spring bath. Then you will visit Solang Valley & Rohtang Pass on the Second day of your stay in Manali. At Solang valley which is 10 kms. from The Mall road and bus stand is famous for various adventure sports activities like Zorbing, Paragliding, horse riding etc. in winters you can enjoy skiing, snow scooter and sledge ride also, but in summers Solang valley does not possess any snow that’s why people can enjoy skiing and snow round the year in Rohtang pass which is 45 kms from the main bus stand of Manali. Third day you will be taken towards Manikaran in Kullu valley which is 80 kms. from the Manali on the way you can visit Naggar castle on the left bank road, roerich art gallery, Vaishno devi temple at Kullu, Angora rabbit farm and Kasol valley. It is a long day journey to and fro covering around 200 kms.

Manali is linked with good transportation service with nearest airport situated at Bhuntar in Kullu which is 50kms. There is good service of Volvo and Deluxe Buses with more than dozen buses of various state transport service. Manali has got Taxi stand near bus stand where you can find more than 200 taxis standing to provide you service throughout the state and India.

Temperature in Manali fluctuates a lot but it is pretty pleasant in summers where it remains around 20 to 25 degrees but in winters it comes around –minus 5 to –minus 10 degrees. It is always advisable to carry woolens throughout the season.
