Best games for your child’s seventh birthday

Every year we plan our children’s birthdays but we must admit that sometimes children feel bored because the party often turns into a party for parents; they are having all the fun while the children stay aside and become whining.  At age of approximately 7 children appear grownup enough but actually they are too young to organise a whole party and it can be difficult for some of them to incorporate if don’t know the other children or the rules of the game...

Also may give you direction but parents are ones that care about the big things.  To help you make your child’s 7th birthday-party unforgettable here is a list of games that guarantee great fun, but also there are many things that can be learned.

First game is called ‘How many’.  You will need a large jar that will be filled with treats or something that will go with the theme of the party - cars, candy, little toy animals, for example.  Fill the jar counting the number of the goodies and keep the number in a safe place.  On small pieces of paper children can write down their name and the number they wish to guess.  In a bowl or small basket children should put the papers with their guess - the fun part is watching the children looking around the jar and trying to figure it out.  The winner can get the jar of goodies for example.

‘Treasure hunt’ is one of the numerous hidden object games that are very interesting for children.  They may play in a team or alone and their task is to find more hidden treasures.  For this game you need a small box, wrapped candies and small toys, wrapping paper, regular paper, scissors, tape, and pen.   Place all the goodies into the box, wrap up the treasure box and then write up different clues and put them in correct hiding places.  Give suggestions to the children inventing little stories about the good.  That will be for example like this:  "I am right beside you while you are reading your favourite book.  I sit in bedroom where your mom is putting a makeup…" and the answer would be a lamp.  You would then place your next clue near the lamp.  You should have 4 to 5 clues that will lead the children to their hidden treasure.  The things that children find may be their prizes.

‘Hot potato’ is very famous game and don’t be scare that your house will be in a mess because you actually don’t need a potato.  You need an object that can easily be tossed, maybe object that goes with the theme of the party which can end up being the prize. Children should sit in a circle on the floor.  One of the children has the ‘potato’ that is very ‘hot’ so he has to pass it quickly when you start the music, so it doesn't burn his hands.  When music stops person holding potato is out.  Continue until there is only the one child left.
