Yes, you are aware how much children love to watch zombie movies or to play zombie games. They are excited of the idea about these creatures, so scary and so mighty at the same time, and that is why they often choose to have a zombie costume and makeup for a Halloween party or simply for some other party during other times of the year. When it comes about the parents, good thing is that this costume does not ask for a great effort to do it or a big amount of money to buy it, the main thing is your imagination, and you will get amazingly scary and original costume - just follow the next instructions.
There are few things that you’ll need to make an excellent zombie costume for your child. You will definitely need old clothes and scissors, then brown pastel stick and face paints, and maybe some hair product and talcum powder which are optional choice.
As we said, you will need old clothes that you don’t mind cutting. Find this kind of clothes in your basement or maybe if you don’t have any, buy from some really cheap shop, second-hand shop or Goodwill shop.
Edges of the clothes should be frayed and next you’ll have to create rips and tears. Use the scissors to create that unkempt look, but also use your fingers to pull out threads – this way the damage will look naturally. To take the freshness out of the cuts and tears, after customizing put the outfit through a wash cycle.
Use your scissors and from a four parallel slits from a trouser leg or a sleeve. Idea is to add some authenticity, to look like scratch marks from another zombie.
The use of the brown pastel is to make the outfit look dirty and the brown colour is selected to cause a mud effect. As zombies emerge from the ground mud clings to their clothes…
Last thing is the makeup. First step is to put a white base on the face, to make him look pale and lifeless, paint with grey tones around the sockets, to make eyes look hollow. Use red paint at the corner of the mouth or neck to add a fake blood effect. If you feel that you are not so skilled and you don’t have enough time, you may use a store-bought mask to complete the look.
Comb back long hair and fix it with holding product, or add talcum powder to short hair to make it look dusty and grey.
With this scary zombie look is finished.
