If You're Looking to Start an Internet Home Based Business, Watch Out

Who wouldn't want to start an internet home based business these days? We are living in a world where the demands on one's commute to work are getting extremely more difficult.  Even when you can get to work in spite of snowy weather, traffic, and high gas prices, your day seems like it's over before you begin!

However, before entering into a venture for a home based business, as with any business, it's wise to get all your facts.  If you're new to the idea of multilevel marketing, you'll need to be aware of the underestimated work ahead.  The most common predicament that most people run against is that they have little expectation to put a lot of work or money into the business.  I advise you to face these myths head on so as to protect yourself from misconceptions.

If you're starting a home based business, beware of the following stumbling blocks that will keep you "at the bottom of the pyramid":

MY FIRST POINT IS THAT THE "PYRAMID" YOU'VE BEEN HEARING ABOUT DOES NOT EXIST.

 The pyramid scheme companies do actually exist; they have no product or service to sell and operate illegally.  These companies are operating illegally and should be not confused with legitimate multilevel companies.  A true 'pyramid scheme' collapses and leaves the last guy "holding the bag".  On the contrary, a good multilevel company with a good product generally grows stronger with every year, even in difficult economic times.  If you're worried about the pyramid shape, just think of the shape of all big organizations, even including churches and scouts!  While it's true that "the people at the bottom don't make money", it has nothing to do with when they joined or how long they've been with the opportunity.  It has everything to do with how hard they work.  The truth is that, very often, a good downline can prove to be more successful than the sponsor who brought him in.
 
THE SECOND MYTH THAT YOU NEED TO BE AWARE OF IS "MONEY CAN BE MADE FAST".

  You can achieve the thousand dollar level, but it doesn't come without time and hard work.  Actually, to earn $1000 inside of a month, most multilevel organizations require a downline of 100 people or more.  The establishment of an online home based business requires sacrifice of both cash and time.  When you spend a lot, the time allotted doesn't need to be as much; but if you're low on cash, be prepared to spend a lot of time!  When you’re low cash and spend a lot of time at your day job, you will have to accept that your goals can’t be reached as quickly as you might like.  But even that doesn't mean it's impossible.  As long as you are very persistent in what you do and don't give up, it's very possible to achieve.  It just takes time and perseverance.  Don’t make the mistake that so many do when they expect the silver platter.  Don't buy into hope; buy into a business opportunity with a plan to work, and stick to your plan!

THE THIRD MYTH IS REFLECTED IN THE SPONSOR WHO TELLS YOU THAT YOU HAVE TO COME ABOARD IMMEDIATELY OR YOU’LL LOOSE YOUR OPPORTUNITY.

 It  might be true that, when a company is new, IF they become really big, then coming in early is a great asset.  But don't be fooled, because you can expect an admirable MLM business to grow over time.  There's no need to rush into a life-changing decision from someone anxious for you to "sign on today".
 
FOURTH, IT'S OFTEN MISSTATED THAT ONE CAN EXPECT TO RETIRE SOON AFTER HE GETS OTHERS TO CARRY THE BUSINESS.

The sad truth is that people are lazy and people are quitters.  This is a fact, even for good ones, as everybody has problems that may interfere with their business.  Unfortunately, you can't always anticipate your recruits to stay in your business and keep selling for you.   But you can anticipate numbers like the hundred you can find on the internet.  If you can get your leads flowing with the right traffic generation procedure, this can turn your internet home based business into a fun venture!   The bottom line is that you need a good flow of traffic via the internet to keep the flow of fresh leads to build a successful business downline.

FIFTH, MANY PEOPLE THINK THAT AN MLM IS BUILT FROM THE TOP DOWN.

Actually, the opposite is true- you build from the bottom.  The bottom part of your structure is the people you've recruited into your business and begin assisting you to market your opportunity.  Now, your recruits go on to recruit others, building a strong network team.  You are the foundation, hence the bottom, of the business.  Hence, for a successful internet home based business, it begins with you and your system to train others, which, when done correctly, brings the sweet satisfaction of success!
